For Guys:​
- Black dress pants and black socks. Dance pants are encouraged but not required.
- Long-sleeved white shirt for Standard/Smooth. (Vest and tie optional)
- Long-sleeved black shirt for Latin/Rhythm.
- You can wear the same shirt for all styles if desire.
- Shirts/vests/jackets should not bunch up at the shoulders when you raise your arms.
- Hair should be styled neatly.
- Tailsuits (without shoulder pads) can be worn once you reach higher levels.
For Girls:​
- Standard/Smooth: dress that is between mid-calf and no longer than ankle. Dress should be stretchy so you can move and take big step freely.
- Latin/Rhythm: dress that is knee length or shorter with shorts underneath. Skin-color tights are recommended but not required.
- If you do not have a full dress, a fitted top with skirt is also acceptable.
- Hair should be styled neatly. Longer hair should be put in a bun. Stage make-up is preferred.
- Custom-made dance costumes can be worn once you reach higher levels. You can consult our officers and coaches for recommendation if desired.

Dance shoes
We recommend you to invest in a good pair of dance shoes. Dance shoes are more flexible, have suede soles, help you move and slide better. Good ballroom shoes are typically between $70 - $90/pair and should last about 2 years with proper care.

It is ideal to have 2 pairs of shoes for Standard/Smooth and Latin/Rhythm. However, to make it financially friendly, we recommend you buying one pair to begin with. You should start with Standard shoes for guys and open-toe Standard shoes for girls.
